If they choose Reaper over Logic that usually means they don't own a Mac and have therefore never used Logic Pro X.
You can tell the PC folks from the Mac folks. Its not THAT big of a change up (I have Reaper as well) but might as well just keep doing what hes doing until he wants to 'branch out' and decides he needs the extra toys that come with Logic (I personally think the softsynths and EXS24 are nothing special but then again Ive got a nice collection of synth plugins piled up over the years as well as some rad hardware so dont really need to tax the CPU with em). If hes already using Reaper and Reaper is getting the job done, why bother changing? The learning curve is going to put any productivity on the backburner while he gets accustomed to where things are in Logic.

My question.would it be worth shelling out the $$ for Logic? I have no experience with it, but a good friend who's opinion I respect gets almost religious talking about Logic. I currently use Reaper with a Mackie onyx 1604 and a macbook pro. I sometimes do some minor automation and eqing, maybe a little verb here and there, but nothing too advanced. I multitrack record certain gigs and do a basic mix down to get a good live feel. I am not looking to make polished, radio ready recordings. I hope that my experience, which i have amassed during the last few months and years, will help you in your daily creative work.
